Beijing dating expat

At first, I attempted small talk: "I like your shoes", 'Hey, that's a nice jacket", I'd offer in Chinese. "Your coat, it's an Arsenal coat", I explained, pointing at the logos. I just liked the coat, I'm not an Arsenal supporter", she said, and turned away. As the week passed, I found it hard going – I tried to attempt conversation, sometimes it went all right, but mostly people thought me a crazy person for trying to chat.

The Chinese women I talked to would smile and nod and then return to looking at their mobile phones. Getting a phone number or We Chat code (China's version of Whats App) might have been easier if I was more brazen and blunt about it, but it felt like breaking some social law.

Everyone played with their phones; playing a game, reading a book, watching a TV show or a movie. Other things that were notable about riding the sub: the cars are bigger than London's, but feel smaller as they take more people.

Trying to find a date on the subway, on the other hand, is not so easy.

Unfortunately, some Chinese women see Western guys as a free ticket to an overseas trip or a foreign passport, but there are gold-diggers anywhere in the world. Many Western guys would like to believe Chinese women date them because they have a more muscular appearance or are bigger in size.

It is not true, although I can see how this "theory" feeds their racist ego.

A recent article titled "Single foreign females in China don't have it easy," published in Global Times Metro Shanghai on April 28, has sparked huge controversy.

I told him once, if he could move his focus from boobs to the conversation, his problem would be solved. Some Western men are certainly spoiled by Chinese women.
